After downloading the app on your cell phone, click on the icon that will appear on the main screen. The first time you access you need to do a simple registration, entering your email and a password of your choice, as well as your personal details, such as full name and date of birth.
Once all the data has been entered, click “Register” to finish. Afterwards, just login to start using the application. It may take a few seconds while the platform synchronizes your data.
Once the procedure is complete, you will be able to see that the interface is intuitive and friendly, which makes it very easy to use. On the main screen you will find the main sections: Meal, Glycemia, Hypoglycemia and Content.
Entering blood glucose values
For individuals living with diabetes, keeping an adequate record of their blood glucose levels is of vital importance, and with Glic this can be done in a few clicks.
To do this, go to the Blood Glucose section on the main screen. Select when the blood glucose level was, whether it is “Now” or “Past”, and click “Next”. Next, it is necessary to inform the type of blood glucose and the value. Finally, tap the “Next” button.
As you can see, it is a very simple and quick procedure. Every time you enter your blood glucose, you can follow the same procedure.
Logging your meals
Glic also allows you to record meals quickly and simply. See the step by step below:
- Enter the “Meal” section on the main screen;
- Select the time of the meal (now or past);
- Choose the type of meal (breakfast, lunch, snack or dinner);
- Enter the blood glucose value if you wish (it is not mandatory) and click “Next”;
- In the search bar, type the name of the food you want to enter first (the foods are in alphabetical order);
- When you find the food on the list, choose the type of portion and quantity, and tap “OK”;
- To add more foods, click “Add more foods”;
- To finish, tap “Next”. That’s it, your record is saved!
As you include foods, still in the “Meal” section, you can view the estimated amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fats and calories.
How to record hypoglycemia episodes
Glic also offers the possibility of recording hypoglycemia episodes simply and quickly.
If you’re not familiar, episodes of hypoglycemia are times when blood glucose levels are low, usually below 70 mg/dL, and can cause symptoms such as tremors, sweating, dizziness and weakness.
If you are experiencing an episode of hypoglycemia and want to record it in the app, simply click on the “Hypoglycemia” section. The platform will provide instructions about procedures that can be performed to increase blood sugar and reduce symptoms. After following these procedures, wait 15 minutes and measure your blood glucose again.
